1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

Its more like a inbetween, like loose frizzy waves.

 

2. What is your natural hair colour?

It was originally a very dark brown then got lighter/auburnny when I was 15

 

 

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

Mixture, mainly salon I’m far too cackhanded.

 

 

4. How often do you wash your hair?

2-3 times a week

 

 

5. Do you wear the same style every day or change it?

It changes monthly, I go through favourite periods but I do usually change it almost every day

It's been ombré for the past 4 months though

 

6. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

I do my own, I can barely touch my own feet let alone someone else :')

 

 

7. How often to you change your nail polish?

On average 1-2 times a week, I get very impatient and if it starts to chip I have to change it. 

But Barry m clear is a keeper! 

 

 

8. Do you polish your toes in the winter, too or just in the summer?

Just summer, hide my feet in fluffy socks in winter!!

 

 

9. How long does it take to put on your makeup?

In the mornings when I used to do my average for school about 20 minutes, but if I’m doing it properly it takes about half an hour ( sometimes 45 if I decide to join hairspray when I put on concealer ) 

 

10. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

Face. That way I cant ruin both parts of my make up routine and at least my face looks average ( I CANNOT do my own eye make up!!)

 

 

11. Do you "collect" makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

I am a bit of a collector but mainly I buy for what I think I need, which I usually don’t…

 

 

12. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

Hardly ever, only when I’m feeling a bit fancy but they’re a faff to put on I always end up sticking my eyes together!

 

 

13. Do you do a full face of makeup every day?

No. usually just concealer or nothing if I’m home alone or not going anywhere eg gym, but if I'm going to work or have to be at somewhere important aka meeting, then I definitely wear a full face.

 

 

14. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone (or with family)?

Only if I’ve had it on during the day and haven’t taken it off yet, otherwise nothing!

 

15. Will you leave the house without makeup?

Yes, less then I should though! I usually have concealer, depends where I’m going eg gym.

 

 

16. How many high end products do you have?

Not that many, I have a couple of staples but mainly higher end high street so I’m not poor. Probably about 14 roughly.

 

17. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?

Not as often as I should... once a month ( please don’t hate me )

 

 

18. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?

I decide on an outfit the night before if it's something special, but usually I just grab whatevers clean.

 

 

19. How often do you change your handbag?

Not very often, usually 3 times a year to change per  season but if I get a new bag I have to use it straight away …

 

 

20. What time do you get up & go to sleep?

I typically go to sleep around 11:30 pm and wake up around 7am ( now its like 9am!! Woo no more school! )

 

 

21. How often & when do you workout?

Twice a week, but my eating habits are atrocious and Zumba makes me look like I’ve been electrocuted ( make that 3-4 ;))

 

 

22. Left-handed or Right-handed?

Right-handed.

 

 

23. How tall are you?

5'9” L

 

 

24. Do you speak a foreign language?

German and dabble in French, I’m a lot worse then I think I am. Being that my favourite phrase is Je voudrais un chien.

 

 

25. How many pets do you have?

I have one dog ( cocker spaniel )  called Pixie and she’s beauuuutiful , my dad chose the name don’t blame me! And two fish ( bubble and squeak).

 

 

26. How often are you on Blogger?

I check it nearly everyday but don't spend as much time on it as I used to. Average one post a week but I need to do more and I’m going to!!

 

 

27. Do you read the comments posted blogs?

Yeah, I do

 

 

28. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

100%, If I see someone recommend products for certain reasons I’ll note them on my phone or on my notepad

 

29. How did you come up with your blog name?

I’m a geography nerd and its what my old twitter was called.

 

 

30. What is your favourite colour?

It’s a flip between orange or baby green and blue.

 

 

31. What is your favorite beauty/fashion magazine?

Probably company and look ( two aswell J)

designer ( brand ) vs highstreet dupe

Hello again!

This has gone up a day later then i'd hoped as it was my friends 18th birthday yesterday and was all very chaotic! But anyway today's post is on basically , i was having a root through my foundations the other day and couldnt find my usual nars foundation so I resorted to using my revlon photo ready instead. Therefore it got me thinking on posts, so i tried a variety of products over the past couple of days with different looks and managed to find highstreet versions of brand products but 3/4 of the price. Okay here's with the post :)

First one is Mascara:
For the past 18 months i've been religiously using Benefit they're real mascara. Its my favourite mascara, and still is. The main thing i look for in mascara is lengthening but a bit of volume also as i have quite short dark eyelashes so the main thing i want is lengthening. However this mascara does not only legthen but it gives a little volume/ intensity. However, it is £19.50!
Now i wasnt sure if this would count as high end but more high end/high street.

My dupe for this is joining the hype, Maybelline the falsies in noir. It has all the similar qualities of They're real except its only £6.99 from boots. Admittedly it has a different shape brush, it has a slight curve in it means lashes are more spread out! So yeah for under £10 i really cant recommend this mascara enough, without even curling lashes ( sometimes its just effort!! ) .


My next product is cream blushes:

Now overall i'm not a fan of cream blushes as i find powder's are easier to guide onto the face but there is still some good cream blushes.
The high-end cream blush i used was the Bobbi Brown , I found the consistency quite hard to spread on the cheek. It does eventually full a natural blush but takes quite a bit of blending! So for the price I feel it doesn't do its job as quickly as you'd like especially for £21.50, however the eventual colour is definitely a really good blush, not too bright.

However the high street dupe I also looked at was the Rimmel wake me up cream blush, although the colour is quite bright at first it does on so smoothly and blends so quickly, I tend to do it without a brush and just use the tip of my finger and blend it on my cheeks bones and it gives such a natural glow! I'd highly recommend this investment.

I find both give a great natural colour and blend well.

The third final one is lip gloss ,

The brand one is Chanel in mica 131. It is almost an exact replica of shade of Tanya burr's afternoon tea lipgloss.

the Chanel lipgloss had a really good texture and the colour is a subtle enough pink to wear alone or on top of lipstick and it's not too sticky but smooth enough. Although the only downfall of is that it doesn't last very well throughout the day if you're drinking or general lip activity ;)

The high street dupe is One of Tanya burrs lip gloss in the shade afternoon tea being very similar to chanels mica. £22.00 vs £6.99.  It has a really lovely texture and feel to it, it gives just enough colour. The only downside is that it smells amazing but doesn't taste it ( lip gloss guys not food gloss ) .

May Favourites

Hello people!
Sorry it has been a little longer then i wanted to post another post but i wrote about 4 different posts but drafted them because i didnt like them ( its also very sunny so beach days have become compulsory )
So anyway i thought as i was tidying my room i'll do a May favourites and i've already got another post lined up for the next couple of days!
Anyways, here goes :) WOOOOOO!

MAY FAVOURITES :

Okay so firstly i'm going to start with make-up ;

Revlon Lip Balm, Colour Burst crayon in Audacious

 

These lip crayons have been out for the several months but this particular colour i've been wearing it so much this month! Because of the nice weather i've been trying to brighten up my make up, it isnt overly orange but with one layer & some gloss it makes me feel all summery inside. RRP: £6.99 Boots

 

My second favourite is my MAC favourite of the month:

Mac Lipstick in Speak Louder the sheen finish

It was not only my Final Prom in May but there were lots of end of school celebrations and parties and this was the lipstick i wore. Its in my favourite Mac lipstick top 3 for sure, its such a beautiful shade of pink with a light shimmer to it ( bottom swatch ) and it matches smokey eyes perfectly, not too much attention but just enough and i cannot explain how much i love this!! RRP: Mac £15.00

 

My next Make-up product favourite is :

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 eyeshadow in Pink Gold (65)

 

 

This was the base eyeshadow i used for my smokey eyes previously mentioned ( summery smokey eye, new blog post to come ) its such an easy and light constituency, it a beautiful light pink shimmer. You can also just wear it on lazy days on his own and yeah i love it and would recommend it to anyone! ( I also have it in 4 other shades ) ... guilty. RRP: £5.49 Boots

 

Okay so that's it for make-up, i didnt want to overcrowd it with Make-up as i have so much to get through!

 

Now onto Skincare/moistureisery cosmetics:

 

First is : Simple, light hydration moisturiser

This moisutriser has been my saviour this month! Usually i would use clinique but my mum had this and i tried it and loved it ( not only is it under ten times cheaper but so good ). I love simple brand so much i also use their toner when i run out of Liz earle. But anyway, i have dry-combination skin and i find most moisturisers are quite heavy and intense on my face and make my skin quite oily and bring out spots and then drys out a few hours later but this one is not like that at all. It moisturises my skin just the right amount, it stays on the skin for 12 hours ( meaning soft etc ) and soaks in so nicely, it doesnt make my skin feel all heavy and greasy but really does feel light and hydrating to my skin! I've been wearing this night and day before my primer and before i go to bed. If you have dry to normal skin this would be perfect but also works with oily skin.  RRP: £.2.99 Boots

 

Next favourite:

Garnier body Oil beauty nourishing lotion ( for dry skin )

 

 

This body lotion ive been using for the past few weeks. Now as the weather has been improving so has the leg shaving schedule ( shhh ) i've been using this on my legs post wash and it makes my legs so soft and nourished. It has a slight body butter texture  but the smell is amazing ( argan, macadamia, almond and rose oil!!) its almost shea coconut buttery smelling, anywhere you put it will moisturise, it is quite heavy and intense for the first 20 minutes but after that it is wonder cream!! RRP: Boots £6.99

 

Now onto mixture of products:

 

Next favourite is: Jelly Belly Bubblegum scented candles

 

 

Ohhhhhh Myyyyyy Wooorrrrddd, i cannot describe to you how amazing these candles smell! I was going to get the big one but i wasnt sure when i got them how they'd smell ( and i had a pretty pot i wanted to use ). But wow oh wow they smell like bubblegum and candy heaven, its not too overpoweringly sickly sweet but my bedroom now smells like bubblegum jelly beans and mmm mmm i want to eat my furniture. I know i'm sounding over the top but its so delicious. I find the little ones also dont overpower the room its more subtle fragrance, but yeah they smell so amazing i cant recommend them enough. I've burnt through so many this month as you can see... RRP: Tesco £5.99

 

Next product is more hair related:

Lee Bancroft "blissfully bouncy" hair rollers

 

My hair naturally is quite thick and frizzy so i've trying to find something that will naturally curl my hair without heat damage and these have been trial and error. When i first tried the bristles made my hair quite knotted and hard to take out but with styling oil spritzed and a thorough brushing these do give and excellent curl if you do the following when hair is slightly damp, it does what it says although if you're going out for the day do use alot of hairspray! haha although it doesnt sound like my favourite it does give just the right amount of wavy curl without heat damaging your hair. Final favourite is foodish related:

Vanilla and Strawberry flavour tea

 

Simply the most amazing smelling and flavoured tea, its not sickly sweet but so amazing, especially if you want to get into herbal teas. I found it quite hard to get into herbal teas, especially as some of the fruit ones are not very sweet and quite bitter/flavourless but this one is so amazing and this is my second box!! RRP : £2.99 Holland & Barrett

Bronzer Review

Bonjour!
I have been recently looking for a new bronzer as i found the one i usually use quite matte, some people may prefer a slightly matte-r bronzer to emphasise the shadows and shapings of the contours. However, personally I find bronzers with slight shimmer pigment allow extra highlighting of the cheekbones and face structure.
I have tried to review bronzers from a range of prices, as some high street are just as good or even better then labels.

The three Bronzers i tried were: Bourjois Delice De Poudre Bronzing Powder
                                                    Rimmel natural bronzer
                                                    Nars Bronzing powder ( Both in Laguna and Irresistablement )


The first is the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer:

This is one of my favourite bronzers, i'm on my second pallette. Being, it not a recent discovery as its a old re-use in my make up stash. I find it gives just enough colour to contour and shadow without caking your face in mud. Its not very shimmery and is quite matte but for £6.99 its a good staple bronzer to have. However, it only lightly dusts your face so if you wanted a slightly heavier contour then apply several layers.
And it smells a bit like chocolate.
Id recommend this if you want a slightly matte-r bronzer, for more contour emphasis but only very slightly

The second is Rimmel natural bronzer :
I am pale and very very conscious about this. When you swatch the product from the pallet, It appears alarmingly orange. I am not entirely sure why this is as it is not orange at all on the face (unless a ridiculous amount is used.) Its not as matte as the bourjois bronzer but more gentle subtle tones on the skin.The fact that its a powder also means it comes with the inbuilt benefit that its going to keep your skin makeup on for longer during a long day. Again a light contour but with slightly more shade, not cakey or heavy.

Finally the Nars Bronzing powder :

Almost saving the best until last! This is my new favourite bronzer, Laguna in particular. It has really good pigmentation, it isnt too heavy on the skin and has subtle shimmers which help highlight the cheeks but not too much that you're edward cullen! The colour is very natural brown and doesnt look fake. It only needs light application but you can layer it if you wanted a heavier contour. It is slightly on the pricey side but a definite worth investment!
